Audience
This guide is specifically tailored for Volvo Dealers who have recently received the desktop and Thales ID scanner.
It is assumed that you have successfully turned on the computer and connected it to the internet.
It is recommended to get your IT Support involve in this installation since some security or network policies may block the installation or limit access to essential web portals.
If you require assistance at any time, simply click the Help button at the bottom right (the button will appear as Chat when support is online) and follow the instructions.
1. Introduction
Welcome onboard! This guide is designed to assist you in getting started and making the most out of our platform to efficiently book test drives. With our user-friendly interface and comprehensive features, we aim to streamline the process of booking test drives and ensure a seamless experience for both car dealerships and potential customers. Whether you are new to our portal or a returning user looking for a refresher, this guide will provide you with all the information you need to navigate and utilise our E-kiosk portal effectively.
Let's get started, and discover the convenience of booking test drives like never before!
2. What you need?
2.1. Hardware

- Stand (Optional)
2.2. Software
2.2.1. Prerequisites:
To download the software and access the web application portals you may need to whitelist the following:

2.2.2. Software Installation

E-Kiosk Management Software
After downloading the software, open it and follow the below steps:
Step 1: Click Next.
Step 2: Select all boxes and click Next.
Please wait while the prerequisites are installed.
Step 3: Click Next.
Step 4: Click Next.
📝 Note: For multiple users on a shared computer (Roaming Profiles), it's recommended to create a folder "Ekiosk" in C drive and set it as the installation path.
Step 5: Click Install.
Please wait until the installation is complete.
📝 Note: It is always important to connect the scanner before running the IDV E-Kiosk Management Software.
2.2.3. Software Activation
A software licence key will be emailed to you prior to the software installation to activate the software.
Importing the Private Key and Activating the Software:
Once you have connected the scanner and opened the software, click on the three dots (…) as highlighted below and select the downloaded key file.
Next, click Import.
After importing, you will see similar to the screen below.
*The digits and numbers will vary for each activation because it is a unique key.
Click Activate Now.

3.1. Understanding your Hardware
- Thales ID Scanner
The Thales CR5400 Scanner is an essential component of your hardware setup for the E-kiosk portal. This scanner plays a crucial role in efficiently scanning the Driver’s licence of your customers prior to a test drive.
The Thales CR5400 Scanner surpasses other scanning devices, such as flatbed scanners, in terms of performance and accuracy. It eliminates the need for additional scanners when it comes to scanning identification documents like driver's licenses.

After you have unboxed the Thales CR5400 scanner, the next step is to connect it to your desktop via the USB cable that is included in the box.
3.2. Understanding E-Kiosk Software
On the software and application level, there are two different terms:

E-Kiosk Portal: This is a web-based portal designed to facilitate the onboarding of customers and the process of scanning their driver's licenses to book a test drive. The E-Kiosk Portal serves as a user-friendly platform where customers can input their information and upload their driver's license, for verification and test drive booking purposes. It provides a seamless and efficient user experience for both customers and dealership staff.

E-Kiosk Management Software: This is a Windows-based software that is installed by the IDV Support team on your computer once you book an installation session. The purpose of this software is to effectively connect, manage, and troubleshoot (if required) the Thales identity document scanner, which is an integral part of the test drive booking process. The E-Kiosk Management Software allows for the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the Thales scanner, ensuring its optimal performance and resolving any potential issues that may arise.
3.3. Running IDV E-Kiosk Software
Assuming that the software has already been installed by IDV Support, you can run it by clicking on the shortcut icon on your desktop.
📝 Note: It is always important to connect the scanner before running the IDV E-Kiosk Management Software.
3.4. Testing the Connections
To ensure everything is setup and ready to use, simple open the software from the system tray on the bottom right.
It is important to ensure that every status is green.
3.5. Accessing Test Drive Portal
To get started, you will need credentials to log in to E-kiosk Portal (aka idDriver).
Once you have got the credentials, visit https://ivolvo.idvpacific.com.au and log in.
📝 Note: The interface is designed to work in your browser’s full-screen mode for a better experience.
To enable full screen, simply tap the button on the right top as shown below.
3.6. Booking your first test drive on E-Kiosk Portal
The E-Kiosk portal consists of the following 5 easy steps to add a new driver:

STEP 1: Touch to get started
Touch anywhere on the screen to start the process.

STEP 2: Insert driver’s licence in the scanner
Once prompted as shown below in the screenshot, the scanner light will turn green. Upon turning the green light, enter the Driver’s licence in any direction into the scanner and wait until it pops up automatically.

STEP 3: Review scanned images
The scanned images of the driver’s licence will appear on the screen. If the quality of the images are acceptable, tap on Next and remove the licence from the scanner.
You may also tap on Scan again if you wish to rescan the driver’s licence.
📝 Note: Inverted images of the driver’s licence are accepted and do not affect any performance as the system does auto-rotation in the background.

STEP 4: Enter the driver’s contact details
Enter the Driver’s email address & phone number and click Next.

STEP 5: Review auto-filled form
It will take less than a minute to process the scanned photos.
After the image processing is finished, a form will be auto-filled based on the driver’s licence details extracted from the scanned images.
✏️ Tip: The auto-filled form can be edited manually and it is strongly recommended to review the auto-filled details to ensure they match with the driver’s licence.

STEP 6: Sign the terms & conditions
The terms and conditions can be found on taping [Read more].
Upon signing in the signature box by the driver, the terms & conditions are accepted by them.
Tap on Next after the driver has finished signing.
It will take less than a minute to process the application.
Tap on Back to home to return to the main screen.
3.7. General Troubleshooting
4-Step Easy Troubleshooting
Step 1: Exit the software if running.
Step 2: Unplug the scanner.
Step 3: Plug the scanner back in and wait unƟl the scanner light is solid blue.
Step 4: Start/Restart the software.
If the problem persists or you require additional assistance, it is recommended to reach out to our IDV Support team for further troubleshooting and guidance.

The Support Portal, also known as the IDV Help Center, is your go-to resource for technical support and assistance regarding the E-Kiosk Management Software, E-Kiosk Portal, and Thales Scanner.
To access the Support Portal or IDV Help Center, follow these steps:
- Open your web browser.
- Visit https://support.idvpacific.com.au/hc/en-us/requests/new
- Fill out the form to submit a request for assistance.
- Provide your name, email address, and a description of the issue or question you have.
- If applicable, provide any necessary attachments or screenshots to help the support team understand the issue better.
- Click "Submit" to send your request to the support team.
- Once your request is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email and a support agent will reach out to you for further assistance.
