This guide is designed to assist in setting up Ekiosk for multiple users on a shared computer. It is assumed that the software has been successfully installed for the initial user as per the provided instructions.
Steps
The following steps apply to each user profile who will be intending to run/host the software. Please ensure that the scanner is connected to the computer before following the steps.
- Locate and Launch the Software
- Navigate to the installed location of the Ekiosk software
- Open "EKioskRunner.exe"
📝 Note: The common installation path is "C:\Ekiosk" in the case of Roaming Profiles.
- Activation Process
The software needs to be activated using the provided licence key (.pem) for each user.
Once you have connected the scanner and opened the software, click on the three dots (…) as highlighted below and select the downloaded key file.
Next, click Import.
After importing, you will see similar to the screen below.
*The digits and numbers will vary for each activation because it is a unique key.
Click Activate Now.
In the Connection Status tab, the activation status will be updated. - Configuration Settings
In the System Settings tab, enable the first two options: - Windows Task Scheduler
Upon the initial installation for the first user on the computer, a task is automatically created in the Windows Task Scheduler which runs the software automatically on startup.
However, to ensure that the Ekiosk application starts automatically during system Startup for other users, the IT Administrator must add the respective users to whom this task will be applied.
This process allows for the seamless initiation of the Ekiosk application as part of the system's Startup and Sign-in routines, providing convenience and accessibility to designated users.
- Test
Following the completion of the outlined steps, it's advisable to conduct a test by restarting the system and logging into the specific User Account for which the Ekiosk configuration was performed. Ensure that Ekiosk launches automatically during startup and validate its functionality by checking the Connection Status tab to confirm all statuses are displaying as 'green.' This test serves to verify the successful implementation of the Ekiosk configuration and its seamless startup, ensuring the application operates as intended.
